Job summary

Sonoco in West Chester, OH is seeking a Material Handler to support production operations, move finished goods, inspect quality, and help maintain smooth flow on the floor.

The role requires experience with forklift, raw materials, and ability to follow procedures; second shift offers a $0.75 differential and a 2:45 pm–11:00 pm schedule. Sonoco provides competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience handling raw materials in a manufacturing setting.
• Forklift experience to move pallets and goods safely.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow documented procedures.

Responsibilities

• Strap pallets using appropriate dunnage and straps.
• Operate strapping gun and ergo machine.
• Perform quality inspections and verify specs with measuring tape.
• Ensure floor documentation is complete and filed.
• Move strips and finished goods to maintain production flow.
• Operate wrapping machine and replace wrapping rolls.
• Assist with loading trucks using buddy check system.
• Check incoming board/rolls for flute/caliper and size against PO.
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks and general labor.
• Carry out tasks as assigned by supervision.
