Job summary

Ascentek is seeking a Material Handler on 2nd shift to support warehouse and production operations in Shreveport, LA. You will safely receive, store, move, and prepare materials to meet production schedules and customer deliveries.

You will use WMS/ERP systems and handheld scanners, maintain inventory accuracy, and participate in safety and continuous improvement activities. This role requires forklift operation and adherence to ISO quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-4 years warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification after hire.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or handheld scanners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Move raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials between warehouse, storage, and production areas.
• Pick, stage, and prepare materials for production orders and customer shipments.
• Verify material quantities, part numbers, lot numbers, and inventory locations while reporting discrepancies or damaged materials.
• Accurately complete inventory transactions using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and handheld scanners.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Prepare outbound shipments by verifying materials, labeling products, and completing required documentation.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment while performing required equipment inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies and housekeeping standards.
• Communicate inventory shortages, equipment concerns, and operational issues to supervisors.
• Participate in safety meetings, compliance training, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support changing production priorities and perform other duties as assigned.
• Support ISO quality standards and documentation requirements.
• Handle chemicals and regulated materials in accordance with SDS, HAZMAT, and EHSS requirements.
• Verify outbound shipment quality and shipping accuracy.
