Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is hiring for a 2nd shift warehouse role in our New York area facility. The position involves material handling, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping, using forklift operations to support a continuous flow manufacturing process.

Starting pay is $23 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential for the 2nd shift. You will follow safety policies, participate in Kaizen events, and help maintain quality standards while meeting customer service goals.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in material handling or shipping/receiving.
• Experience with automated demand fulfillment systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate within multiple work areas to support supply chain needs.
• Identify disruptions, troubleshoot, and perform routine repairs per SOP.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure quality.
• Move materials and finished goods with forklift within warehouse.
• Process orders and ensure flow through systems per service standards.
• Develop capacity plans for build-to-stock or build-to-order environments.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving schedules.
