Job summary

GE Vernova in Schenectady, NY is hiring a Generator Final Assembly 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer to support the 2nd shift by solving technical problems and communicating across shifts.

You will perform manufacturing engineering tasks, create work instructions, plan maintenance of shop tooling, analyze drawings, and build documentation. On-site with potential 3rd shift support, a strong technical background and leadership in manufacturing required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field with 2 years’ manufacturing leadership experience
• Or a 2-year technical degree with at least 6 years’ manufacturing leadership/technical experience
• Or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 8 years’ manufacturing leadership/technical experience
• Or 6 years of military experience in a technical or related role

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing engineering tasks, primarily tactical responsibilities
• Creating & updating work instructions
• Purchasing of & planning maintenance of shop tooling
• Analyzing part drawings and technical process specifications
• Creating shop build documentation
• Communicating technical processes with salary & hourly employees
• Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy
• May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
• Good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team
