Job summary

Sargento Foods Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday through Friday) at our Wisconsin plant.

You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment, follow GMP practices, and promote a safe, efficient operation. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize preventive maintenance programs, participate in continuous improvement, mentor apprentices, and support other shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance or an related technical degree.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Understanding of control systems, power systems, and electronic device selection.
• Soft skills: teamwork, communication, and proactive problem solving.
• Stay current with Wisconsin license criteria through ongoing CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and take appropriate safety precautions.
• Adhere to GMP practices and perform strict housekeeping of all work areas.
• Own tasks to optimize operational safety, plant performance, and line uptime.
• Follow established maintenance processes and standards of excellence.
• Utilize predictive maintenance tools and document results; take preventive action as needed.
• Repair and replace mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components for manufacturing equipment.
• Perform tasks through the computerized maintenance management system.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives and Root Cause Analysis.
• Assist in training Maintenance Apprentices, Machine Specialists, and other Sargento staff.
