Job summary

Quanex, located in Jackson, Georgia, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to keep plant equipment running through preventative maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires experience with PLCs, HMIs, electrical components, and the ability to read electrical schematics. Training is on the 1st shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift, with an hourly rate of $34-$40, plus shift differential and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, HMIs, and other electrical components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals required.

Responsibilities

• Work with PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve plant automation.
• Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist in implementing new equipment and improvements.
• Perform thorough repairs and follow-up based on feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel and line workers to resolve equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Coordinate equipment updates with off-shift maintenance and other team members as needed.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
