Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to coordinate OEM equipment preventive maintenance and handle internal breakdowns. You will address safety concerns and ensure all machines are in good working order on a 2nd shift.

Responsibilities include maintaining maintenance records, coordinating with OEMs, and managing parts inventory while working with the maintenance team and contractors. A strong mechanical/electrical background is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required; agricultural/automotive background a plus.
• Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work well with others and share knowledge.
• Ability to work without direct supervision; CDL a plus.
• Service shop experience preferred; ability to lift heavy components and work outside in all weather.
• Reliable work history and ability to work independently.
• Must pass physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OEM equipment preventive maintenance service work and internal breakdowns.
• Address immediate operational and safety concerns; ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Maintain records and document work orders in maintenance software.
• Work with OEM manufacturers on production equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Conserve maintenance resources and manage spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with maintenance team and outside contractors as needed.
• Keep facilities clean and safe by following procedures and regulations.
