Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician I (2nd shift) to ensure predictable performance of factory machines and build infrastructure. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role may also take on special projects to support safety, sustainability, growth and development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience and technical training in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with blueprints, hand tools, and power tools.
• Valid forklift operator's license is an asset.
• Responsible, self-motivated, and a good team player.
• Knowledge and practical experience with standard computer applications.
• Adhering to OSHA regulations and using safety equipment.
• Valid state or local electrician licenses and certifications such as CET or OSHA 10/30.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and electrical testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance on machines and equipment based on cycles, timing or condition.
• Perform unplanned maintenance when machines are not working properly.
• Recommend maintenance procedures based on manuals and supplier information.
• Recommend on-hand repair parts based on manuals or critical-to-operation parts.
• Assist with updating and maintaining maintenance software records.
• Perform work related to changes in manufacturing processes for safety and efficiency.
• Assist with introducing new equipment.
• Support operations in developing new manufacturing cells.
