Job summary

SPX is opening a new campus facility and seeks a Maintenance Technician I to ensure predictable performance of factory machines and infrastructure at one site in Madison, Alabama. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and may include special projects to support safety, sustainability and growth.

You will perform planned and unplanned maintenance, reference manuals for procedures, manage parts and contribute to changes in manufacturing processes and new equipment integration with a focus on

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical or mechanical systems is required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with blueprints and tools are expected.
• OSHA regulations and safety equipment use is required.
• Possession of forklift license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance on machines and equipment based on cycles, timing or condition.
• Perform unplanned maintenance when machines are not working properly.
• Recommend maintenance procedures using manuals and supplier information.
• Recommend parts based on manuals or lead times.
• Assist with updating maintenance software records.
• Support safety and efficiency changes in manufacturing processes.
• Assist with new equipment introductions.
• Support development of new manufacturing cells.
