Job summary

SoftLite Windows & Doors in Streetsboro, Ohio seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations on 2nd shift (5:00 pm–3:30 am). The role emphasizes ownership, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to improve plant productivity and equipment reliability.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, read schematics, and work safely under OSHA guidelines while collaborating with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting knowledge in PLC and computer-controlled equipment.
• Experience with electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot PC/PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and other industrial control systems.
• Use electrical schematics, technical documentation, and hands-on diagnostic skills to identify root causes and restore equipment to operation.
• Respond to equipment issues and production downtime with a sense of urgency, minimizing disruptions and maintaining plant productivity.
• Take ownership of problems from initial diagnosis through repair, follow-up, and prevention of future failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on critical production equipment, including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and plant leadership to resolve equipment challenges and improve operational performance.
• Maintain a safe and organized workplace by following safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
