Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Medford, Wisconsin to run, maintain, and repair mechanical parts in a large manufacturing facility. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and fabricating parts as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Experience with 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from sock or fabricate replacement parts as needed.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift.
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area.
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times.
