Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Medford, Wisconsin. The role involves running, maintaining, and repairing all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and equipment installation.

The position requires 2 years of related work history or equivalent education, proficiency in welding and use of hand tools, and experience with motor control

Qualifications

• 2 years’ recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from sock or fabricate replacement parts as needed
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
• Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times
