Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Medford, WI to run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a high‑production facility. You will troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and fabricate parts as needed.

The role requires experience with welding, cutting, hand tools, and motor control circuits.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from sock or fabricate replacement parts as needed.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift.
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area.
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times.
