2nd shift Maintenance Technician

Hourly Pay Range: $25 - $35/hour (Depending on experience)

We are currently looking for a full-time 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support our Elgin plant.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient with PLCs, Drives, and Schematics (for 1st shift position).
• Initiates purchase orders for parts and supplies.
• Records all maintenance performed for each machine in written English in the maintenance log.
• Maintains and assembles spare parts inventory.
• Troubleshoots all equipment mechanical and electrical issues.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty/mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Measures, cuts, threads, air, water, and gas piping.
• Installs new auxiliary equipment on all production machines.
• Cuts, welds, and fabricates structural equipment.
• Diagnoses equipment failure to determine the root cause.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make repair parts.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and needs for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Pulls wiring through conduits.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machine and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Proficient with PLCs, Drives, and Schematics (for 1st shift position).
• Proficient with test instruments.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Skilled in the usage of all common hand and power tools.
• Proficiency with IBM-compatible computers.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in basic mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
• Good communication skills in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
• Completion of 9th-grade level mathematics; proficiency in basic mathematics calculations.
