Job Description

Home Run Inn Pizza is seeking an experienced and reliable maintenance technician for our Food Production Plant in Woodridge, IL. We produce frozen pizzas! This position is for third shift in a manufacturing environment.

Shifts: Sunday 5:00am-1:30pm; Monday-Thursday 5:00am-1:30pm

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, and basic troubleshooting skills. The role involves machine repair to minimize downtime, electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing environment.

  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3-phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of power transmission equipment and bearings.
  • Familiarity with air and electric pumps.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot basic 3-phase motor control circuits.
  • Some knowledge of sensors and limit switches.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment breakdowns.
  • Use electrical/mechanical skills to maintain machinery.
  • Contribute to a safety-conscious culture.
  • Provide rapid response to ensure productivity.
  • Set up production equipment and assist with shutdowns.
  • Disassemble, rebuild, and replace defective parts, then reassemble and adjust equipment.
  • Perform regular checks on building equipment and document findings.
  • Collaborate with production personnel on equipment repairs and setup procedures.
  • Complete work orders and assist with new equipment layout and setup.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the department manager.
  • Attend training sessions.
  • Be on call during off hours for emergencies.
  • Work flexible shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of related maintenance experience with electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • 2-3 years of troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems at the component level.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and stooping.
  • Proficiency with maintenance tools and computers.
  • Ability to work all shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
  • Experience working in a production environment with exposure to ambient, refrigerator, or freezer conditions.
  • Ability to read and draw schematics.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong electrical understanding, including high and low voltage.
