Job summary

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift to join our team in Jackson, Georgia. The role ensures robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of maintenance experience and are familiar with PLCs, HMIs, drives and electrical components. The position initially runs 4pm-2am Mon-Thu and will transition to 2pm-10pm Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, HMIs, and other electrical components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals required.

Responsibilities

• Improve plant automation with PLCs, HMIs, and safety controllers.
• Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist in implementing new equipment and improvements.
• Complete repairs with thorough follow-through and feedback from internal customers.
• Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to resolve issues.
• Diagnose failed components and work with voltages up to 480V safely.
• Use a digital voltmeter (DVM) correctly.
• Coordinate equipment updates with off-shift staff and other team members.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
