Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Tech II for the 2nd shift in Cambridge, OH. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, equipment improvements, and safe repair work up to 480V, with a starting hourly rate of $34-$40 plus shift differential and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years relevant manufacturing experience.
• Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills including rebuilding components.
• Experience with performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Basic understanding of facility equipment in support of facility engineer.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting on 480V and below.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting. No programming required.
• Ability to read and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to pass Hands on Skills test.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Conduct thorough work and ensure repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Operate a digital voltmeter (DVM) correctly.
• Coordinate equipment updates with off-shift maintenance personnel and team members as needed.
• Utilize knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers to improve plant automation.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
