Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Tech II for the Cambridge, OH facility on 2nd shift (2pm-10pm). You will perform general maintenance, support equipment upgrades, and coordinate with the team to ensure reliable plant operation.

The role requires mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read schematics, and proficiency with a digital voltmeter (DVM). Competitive pay with bonus potential and strong growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills inclusive of rebuilding equipment components.
• Experience with performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting on 480V and below.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting. No programming required.
• Ability to read and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Hands on Skills test required.

Responsibilities

• Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
• Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve overall plant automation efforts.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
