Job summary

Quanex in Cambridge, OH is seeking a Maintenance Tech II for the 3rd shift (10pm–6am, Monday–Friday). The role focuses on preventive maintenance and continuous improvement to ensure robust operation of equipment.

The position offers an hourly rate of $34–$40 with shift differential and potential bonuses. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills inclusive of rebuilding equipment components.
• Experience with performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Basic understanding of facility equipment in support of facility engineer.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting on 480V and below.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting. No programming required.
• Ability to read and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to pass Hands on Skills test.

Responsibilities

• Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
• Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve overall plant automation efforts.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
• Hands on skill test required.
