Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation in Maumee, OH is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Technician for the 2nd shift to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of production equipment. You will participate in safety programs, read blueprints, and support continuous improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience using SAP CMMS or similar maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pipe fitting, and industrial mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond to minimize downtime.
• Repair, replace, install, and modify machine components and systems.
• Maintain and calibrate electronic, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate spare parts inventory records.
• Communicate repair status, project updates, and equipment needs with plant personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and OSHA standards.

Maintenance & Reliability Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance & Reliability Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Maumee, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving a wide range of production equipment while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond with urgency to minimize downtime
• Repair, replace, install, and modify machine components and systems
• Maintain and calibrate electronic, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate spare parts inventory records
• Communicate repair status, project updates, and equipment needs with plant personnel
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience using SAP CMMS or similar computerized maintenance management systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pipe fitting, and industrial mechanics
• Experience working with:
  Pumps (diaphragm and centrifugal)
  Gearboxes, belts, chains, bearings, couplings, shafts, motors, and hydraulic systems
  480V three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, and low-voltage circuits
  Air compressor systems, including filters, regulators, dryers, and lubricators
• Strong math aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Five (5) or more years of industrial maintenance experience
• Technical school diploma or related technical training
• PLC software experience
