Job summary

Welch Packaging Group Inc is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Specialist to support our production lines by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and repairing machinery to minimize downtime. The role requires hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and a range of shop tools, plus the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Electrical certification preferred.
• Corrugated packaging industry experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
• Ability to use shop tools and equipment (drill press, grinders, welders, oxy-acetylene torch).
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude in mechanical/electrical tasks.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
• On-call emergency repairs and breakdown response.
• Execute plan for continued improvement of machine safety and housekeeping.
• Perform preventative maintenance with production crews.
• Troubleshoot with machine operators to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to resolve issues and manage tools.
• Maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools.
