Job summary

KIK Consumer Products in Illinois is seeking a Mechanic Level 2 on 2nd Shift (3:30 pm to 12:00 am, weekends as needed). You will keep processing and packaging equipment running safely, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues, and assist with installations while following PPE and safety protocols. The role includes a base hourly rate of $32–$35 plus a $0.50 shift differential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance in high-speed packaging/manufacturing.
• 2+ years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of basic welding experience (preferred).
• Reading equipment manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Modify, repair, install and troubleshoot machinery and equipment in processing and packaging.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform timely repairs.
• Operate shop tools to repair or fabricate parts as directed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections; document findings in CMMS.
• Set up and relocate equipment for new products/sizes.
• Repair basic electrical issues; escalate PLC/control problems as needed.
• Respond to breakdowns with a safety-focused, customer-service mindset.
