Job summary

PCI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 2 for the Rockford, IL facility on a 3rd shift (Mon-Thu, 9:00pm–7:00am). Responsibilities include supporting packaging lines, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing equipment issues to keep lines running smoothly.

The role requires 2–3 years of maintenance experience, basic math/computer skills, and the ability to read manuals. Overtime and PPE use may be required; competitive shift pay applies.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2-3 years applicable maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or 2-year Technical School.
• Basic Mathematical and computer skills; ability to perform basic computer tasks and use common programs.
• Professional proficiency to participate effectively in conversations; high reasoning to solve practical problems.
• Preferred: packaging experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the packaging lines by making routine and non-routine adjustments to ensure a high-quality product.
• Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, repairs, and running adjustments.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
• May require overtime and/or weekend work; use PPE and PAPR as required.
• Analyze equipment failures to improve reliability and maintain productivity.
