Champion Packaging & Distribution Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic at our Woodridge, IL facility.

The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing packaging equipment and support systems, with emphasis on safety and preventive maintenance. Qualifications include 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems, and ability to read schematics and prints.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Ability to provide a set of basic mechanic's hand tools.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to lift 55 pounds and work long shifts.
• Experience with AC 480-120V and DC low voltage controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Tear down, rebuild, replace defective parts and components (motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings, electrical units).
• Set up fill lines and assist with changeovers; perform machine/line changeovers.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE; promote safe work practices.
• Interact with various levels of management and participate in special projects.
