Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine, LLC is seeking a Machinist for 2nd shift to operate manual lathes and milling machines, producing and repairing high-precision components with tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, follow GD&T practices, and use precision measuring tools while maintaining safety and quality standards. Training, benefits, and overtime opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade school certificate or specialized education in machining is preferred.
• Previous experience operating manual machinery is required.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T to ensure product conformity.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, pi tapes) to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Adjust feeds, speeds, and tool offsets to maintain high-quality production.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts.
