Job summary

RTX is seeking a CNC Machinist for 2nd shift in Bella Vista, IA, onsite. The role involves programming, operating CNC and manual machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality per EHS and CI guidelines. Training in first 2–3 months with shift 3:30pm–12:00am, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least four years of relevant experience in CNC machining.
  • Certification in core discipline and experience with moderate‑to‑difficult CNC programs.
  • Minimum of four years operating CNC machining centers.
  • Strong communication skills across disciplines and levels.
  • Critical‑thinking ability and logical problem solving.
  • Self‑directed work ethic: prioritize tasks, work independently, and mentor others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, continuous improvement tools, and manufacturing machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Produce machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating CNC or manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders).
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, and GD&T for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
  • Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub‑units or complete units using mechanical equipment.
  • Take measurements, select appropriate machines, perform machining setups, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect work produced, check SPC charts, gauge and measure as required.
  • Maintain records and keep quality/safety standards in line with EHS, Quality, and CI requirements.
  • Display RTX Leadership Behaviors and values and follow all EHS, quality, and CI guidelines set by your leader.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including extended shifts or overtime when necessary.

Location: 426 Bella Vista Dr, Bella Vista, IA, PO Box 826.

Position Type: Onsite. Eligibility: U.S. Person—lawful permanent resident, protected individual, U.S. citizen, or U.S. national.

Security Clearance: None. Sign‑on bonus for external candidates: $1,000.

Schedule & Training

Shift: 2nd shift Monday through Friday, 3:30pm – 12:00am. The first 2–3 months of training occur Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.
