Job summary

Hanwha Aerospace USA in Newington, CT is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for the 2nd shift. You will set up, observe, and maintain centerless grinding and thru-feed machines and measure parts to ensure tolerances.

The role requires reading blueprints, selecting tooling, verifying dimensions with micrometers and calipers, and performing basic machine maintenance. Must be a U.S. person with a high school diploma and 1+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person per U.S. Government and able to work with ITAR data.
• High School Degree or GED.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine tools and equipment needed to perform a job.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and Vernier calipers.
• Read blueprints and job orders to determine product specs and tooling instructions.
• Set up and start machines, engage feeding, cooling and lubrication mechanisms.
• Position and secure stock material or work pieces against stops or fixtures.
• Monitor feed and speed during the grinding process.
• Inspect work pieces and measure accuracy with measuring instruments.
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as oiling, cleaning, and coolant addition.
• Perform other related duties as required.
