Job summary

Pratt Industries in Sandston, VA seeks a reliable Machine Helper to support machine operators on the 2nd shift. The role covers assisting with mechanical setup, running the machine, and ensuring orders meet specifications, with emphasis on safe procedures and accurate data entry.

Ideal candidates will learn the feed, print, die cutting, and delivery sections and may be trained as an operator during vacations or absences. High school diploma is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use basic computer programs and data entry.
• Good math/algebra skills for production calculations.
• Proven problem solving and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work policies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Assist in proper mechanical setup and running of the machine.
• Ensure orders are produced to specifications and meet production targets.
• Maintain production rate within acceptable ranges.
• Complete paperwork and data entry as required.
• Assist in training crew members and cover operator duties when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
