Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a 2nd Shift Operations Manager to lead a warehouse team and oversee planning, staffing, safety, and performance of the shift. You will ensure efficient receiving, storing, inventory control, sequencing, and timely delivery of product to the production area, working with management and the customer to meet goals.

You will develop labor forecasts, optimize space utilization, maintain accurate inventory, and implement programs promoting safe equipment use and clean

Qualifications

• Five years of management experience in a fast-paced warehouse/production logistics environment.
• Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills.
• Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment, working knowledge of WMS technologies.
• Successful track record in leadership and supervising the work of subordinates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to establish priorities and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct programs to ensure efficient operation and utilization of facility and equipment.
• Plan and schedule distribution services to meet customer requirements efficiently.
• Forecast labor needs based on production plans and management input.
• Recommend programs to improve operations to the General Manager.
• Attend forecast and production meetings with the customer.
• Develop a space utilization plan to meet cost and service standards.
• Monitor space layout to ensure alignment with standards.
• Implement and maintain a product locator system and update as needed.
• Direct supervisory personnel to achieve objectives and maintain safety.
