Job summary

Atkore International, based in Harvey, IL, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3p-11p) to supervise machine operating staff and own shift safety, quality, delivery and productivity.

Ideal candidate has 1–3 years supervisory manufacturing experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred; lean manufacturing or business system experience strongly preferred. Union/HR exposure a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in steel manufacturing or tube forming strongly preferred.
• Lean, WCM, GMP, or similar improvement background encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Develop plans to improve engagement and performance within the value stream.
• Instill a positive team atmosphere and run regular team meetings.
• Implement cross-training to ensure proper function of work cells.
• Coach team members on problem solving and root-cause analysis.
• Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
• Lead by example and uphold Atkore values.
