Job summary

Atkore International in Harvey, IL seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11pm-7am) with occasional Saturdays. You will supervise machine operating staff, drive Lean Daily Management, and own shift safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

1–3 years of supervisory experience and a bachelor’s degree are preferred. You will report to the Production Manager and lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools, while fostering teamwork and strong communication within

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in lean manufacturing or business systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within their teams and utilize Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Develop plans and implement strategies to improve engagement, alignment, and performance of the team within the value stream.
• Instill a positive team atmosphere by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks, empowering team member decision-making, and coordinating support services.
• Implement cross training to ensure proper function of work cells and maximize team potential.
• Develop and coach team members to identify problems, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures.
• Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
