Job summary

Atkore is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor for the Harvey, IL facility on 2nd shift (M-F, 3p-11p). You will supervise machine operating staff, drive Lean Daily Management, and own shift safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisory manufacturing experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, with experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-driven environment highly favored.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within their teams and utilize Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Develop plans and implement strategies to improve engagement, alignment, and performance of the team members within the value stream.
• Instill and maintain a positive “can-do” team atmosphere within the value stream by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks, empowering team members, and coordinating support services.
• Implement cross training activities to ensure proper function of the work cells and maximize team’s potential.
• Develop and coach team members with necessary skills to identify problems and perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures.
• Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
• Lead by example and live the Atkore Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
