Liberty Packaging in Rock Island, IL is hiring a Machine Operator I to safely produce quality corrugated products. You will work in a small crew, lead within your team to maximize efficiency, set up orders, perform quality checks, and communicate issues.

The role reports to a Supervisor, Production at the Rock Island facility; full-time position with overtime, weekends, and holidays required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent plus 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or 3+ years manufacturing experience in place of education.
• Computer skills including typing, printing, and data entry.
• Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to read, follow, and complete detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine by setting up orders according to customer specifications and prepare tools.
• Perform quality checks by inspecting first articles and throughout production to ensure quality.
• Enter production metrics into computer system to track production rates, quality, maintenance and downtime.
• Communicate equipment issues to leaders and troubleshoot to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Machine Operators as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs to equipment with maintenance team.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow post-order cleaning process.
• Follow plant safety processes and procedures for the machine center.
• Other duties as assigned.
