Job summary

You will supervise staff, coordinate with QA, maintenance and live production teams, manage inventory and equipment maintenance, and drive process improvements while maintaining strict biosecurity and sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in feed mill operations or a similar production environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate feed mill operations to ensure efficient production.
• Monitor mixing, grinding and pelletizing to maintain quality.
• Ensure proper storage, handling and inventory of materials.
• Lead and train operators; assign tasks; monitor performance.
• Promote safety, efficiency and teamwork in the mill.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA and feed safety protocols.
• Oversee sampling and testing of ingredients for quality.
• Maintain biosecurity and sanitation compliance.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment function and repairs.
• Schedule routine maintenance; troubleshoot issues.
• Recommend equipment upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate feed deliveries with live production teams.
• Optimize storage and handling to reduce waste and contamination.
• Ensure PPE use and safety procedures.
• Conduct safety training; implement best practices.
• Comply with environmental regulations related to production.
• Maintain records of production data and maintenance.
• Analyze metrics and identify process improvements.
• Implement cost-saving measures without harming quality.
