Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring a direct-hire, full-time onsite Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Hartford, Connecticut Presort Services facility. The 2nd shift runs Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM EST with some weekends possible, and pay ranges from $25 to $32 per hour with overtime opportunities.

The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues on mail sorters, printers, and related automation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment.
• Strong familiarity servicing conveyor machines, PLC systems, and other electromechanical production equipment.
• Experience using a multi-meter or any other type of electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals, and parts diagrams.
• Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to operation of automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical and electronic repairs of conveyor machines, PLC systems, and other industrial equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations on industrial machinery.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to industry quality standards.
• Respond to equipment breakdown or emergency situations.
• Utilize inventory, pm schedule, and work order systems to reduce downtime.
• Maintain spare parts/supply inventory using EAM.
• Evaluate and assess equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs promptly.
• Use a tablet to track work, downtime, and inventory used in repairs.
• Perform additional duties as required.
