Job summary

Waste Pro of Florida is hiring a Technician for the 2nd shift in Milton to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical and hydraulic systems on heavy and light trucks. The role may involve welding and fabrication and requires safe work practices.

You will interpret service manuals, complete DVIRs, and coordinate with drivers and managers to minimize downtime. Company benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and a monthly $80 tool allowance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Suspension Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Brake System Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Electrical System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Proficient in the use of Diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from Service Manuals.
• Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and estimate time and material.
• Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months)

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and repairs on heavy and light trucks to maximize safe operations.
• Communicates with managers/drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
• Completes required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area.
• Uses vehicle electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintains high standards of ethics and dependability.
