Job summary

MB Aerospace East Granby is seeking a qualified welder for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3:30pm-12:00am) with a 15% differential. You will read blueprints, set up welds, and inspect welded assemblies using calipers and gauges.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and certification in GTAW, AWS D17.1, and PWA 16, plus 3–5 years of welding experience. Responsibilities include preparing materials for welding, aligning fixtures and positioners, and ensuring compliance with safety and export control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 in any group material.
• 3–5 years welding experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Proficient with standard bench tools and gauges for setup, inspection, and welding.
• Complete required quarterly process control samples.
• Maintain neat workstation and comply with safety guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
• Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work orders.
• Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
• Work with weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable).
• Dimensionally inspect welds and other characteristics with calipers, gauges, etc.
• Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
• Work outside department as required.
• Complete tasks as directed by schedules and standard times.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear PPE.
• Maintain compliance with export control policies and training.
