Job summary

Maysteel is seeking a general set-up operator (GSO) within the Weld classification in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safe operations, reading blueprints, and performing MIG/TIG welding per project requirements.

Responsibilities include setup, data logging in Epicor ERP, material handling, and ensuring parts meet quality specifications. Arcweld certification is recommended and basic math/communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience with power/hand tools.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Arcweld certification is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welds based on project needs.
• Set up and operate at least one job requiring MIG welding.
• Set up and operate at least one job requiring TIG welding.
• Read blueprints and weld symbols to ensure correct fabrication.
• Log data and use Epicor ERP to log into/out of jobs.
• Maintain a safe work environment and proper PPE usage.
• Load, unload, and feed items onto equipment; inspect for quality conformance.
• Conserve materials and report defects to supervision.
