Job summary

Job description

Shift

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday 3:30 pm–12:00 am. 15% differential for 2nd Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
  • Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
  • Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
  • Use complex weld fixtures and positioners (turntables).
  • Dimensionally inspect welds and part characteristics using calipers, protractors, and gauges.
  • Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
  • Work outside department as required.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear all personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, complete all required compliance training, and maintain knowledge of and adherence to the company’s internal compliance policies.
Qualifications
  • Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material).
  • 3–5 years of welding experience.
  • Pass welding certification tests for current materials used in the shop.
  • Read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies, including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes.
  • Complete required quarterly process control samples, logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performed.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
  • Able to successfully multitask in a manufacturing cell work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
