Job summary

Actalent in Dekalb, IL is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead QA and food safety programs in a candy packaging environment. You will oversee second-shift QA staff, drive continuous improvement through data-driven initiatives, and maintain HACCP, PCQI, and GFSI-aligned systems to ensure products meet regulatory and customer standards.

You will coordinate CAPA investigations, NCRs, and internal audits, train staff, monitor KPIs, and partner with plant leadership to sustain a culture of quality

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food quality or QA in the food industry.
• Experience testing for allergens and contaminants in production or packaging.
• Strong understanding of food safety principles and regulatory requirements.
• 6 months to 1 year of leadership experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and food safety activities on second shift.
• Maintain product holds and implement CAPA with root cause analysis.
• Schedule timecards, assign tasks, and train quality staff.
• Monitor quality processes and drive continuous improvement across operations.
• Document and track NCRs and CAPAs for deviations.
