Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a 2nd Shift Floor Technician for Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, SC. The role requires experience in carpet cleaning and floor care, including VCT flooring, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing.

You will operate floor buffers and burnishers, follow safety procedures, and contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should be able to lift up to 70 pounds, pass a drug test, and have a reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with carpet cleaning and floor care, including VCT floors.
• Operate floor buffers and burnishers up to 24 inches.
• Must lift and carry up to 70 pounds and pass a drug test.
• Strong safety-conscious approach and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma preferred but not required; good work history.
• Team-focused with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpet cleaning (extraction) and hard surface floor care.
• Scrub, strip, seal, wax, and spray buff floors as needed.
• Operate high/low speed buffers and propane burnishers up to 24 inches.
• Maintain and operate floor cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Follow established safety precautions for cleaning facility areas.
• Collaborate with team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Job Skills / Requirements

• Shift Time:5PM-11PM M-F$16-16.50/hr.Must have experience and pass a drug test!!!
• Needs to have experience w/ Carpet Cleaning and VCT Flooring.
• carpet cleaning (extraction), scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing hard surface floors.
• Must be able to operate high and low speed buffers up to 24 inch and 3000 RPM propane burnishing equipment.
• Follow established safety precautions.
• Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Follow established safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
• Job Requirements:Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Excellent work history.
• Team focused approach requiring ability to work with others and take direction.
• Physically demanding fast-paced environment requiring ability to work efficiently with attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation.
• Education: High school degree preferred but not required.
• Experience: Previous floor tech experience preferred.
