Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance shop supporting a regional fleet. You will supervise a technician team responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of trucks (diesel and alt-fuel), containers and other heavy equipment, ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards.

You will plan and schedule repair work, oversee diagnostics, road tests, and coordination with the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

Experience leading a maintenance team in a heavy equipment or fleet environment.
Ability to plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs.
Strong knowledge of safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise technicians to ensure safe, efficient and timely repairs.
Monitor performance and adjust activities as needed to improve productivity.
Report performance metrics and recommend process improvements.
Direct hiring, training, evaluations, and merit recommendations in coordination with HR.
Inspect external repairs for compliance with safety and regulations.
Identify training needs and address corrective actions with technicians.
Oversee diagnostics, road-testing, and on-site repairs as needed.
Manage shop inventory and control budget within approval levels.
Maintain engine, transmission, hydraulics, electrical and A/C knowledge for repairs.
Handle payroll and records for the team in the maintenance system.
