Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a maintenance shop that services trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. You will lead technicians, schedule repairs, and ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with regulations.

You will also manage budgeting, training, and performance improvements to minimize downtime. The role demands hands-on supervision, strong safety discipline, and the ability to coordinate with a Maintenance Manager to optimize fleet

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician/supervisor role with knowledge of safety and regulations.
• ASE certifications listed in qualifications (as shown).

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and lead safety, efficiency and timely repairs.
• Monitor performance and redirect activities to improve productivity.
• Report on performance and recommend process improvements.
• Supervise shop staff, conduct daily huddles, performance reviews, and HR actions as needed.
• Inspect outside repairs for compliance with safety and regulations.
• Oversee diagnostics, road testing, and inventory/budget control.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and HVAC systems.
