Job summary

Amentum in Davenport, IA is seeking a 2nd shift Facility Maintenance Plumber to maintain industrial facilities and utilities systems, including plumbing, boilers, pumps, and related equipment.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical maintenance and plumbing, a High School diploma, ability to read drawings, and willingness to work overtime and vary shifts. Salary is $27–$32 per hour with health, dental, vision, 401(k) and more benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance and plumbing.
• Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical building systems including plumbing, boilers, air handling units, pumps, compressors, and exhaust systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial facilities and utilities systems (plumbing, pumps, piping, drains).
• Assist in work orders for building equipment; inspect major equipment and operating systems and take corrective actions.
• Ensure mechanical operations and safety standards are maintained at high quality.
• Work with systems/equipment such as pumps, fans, cranes, heat exchangers, valves, etc.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures per codes; read drawings to determine sequence.
• Join pipes and check for leaks; install/repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, water heaters, etc.).
• Repair plumbing by replacing washers, mending pipes, clearing drains; may weld fixtures.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems; perform lubrication and filter changes.
• Troubleshoot blowers, fans, heat exchange equipment; address basic electrical issues if needed.
• Perform basic pipefitting repairs; collaborate with team and supervision.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a safe work environment; comply with GMP where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
