Job summary

Hope Network BHSE in Michigan is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for full-time 2nd shift at Kersey. You will support individuals to build independence and participate in the community, providing personal care and development assistance.

You will monitor safety, assist with daily living activities, accompany to appointments, and document plans. Required: High school diploma, Michigan driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Shift flexibility: Full-Time / Part-Time including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety 24/7 with checks as needed.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
• Establish trust and empathy through consistent communication.
• Foster partnership with individuals, community and professionals.
• Help develop problem-solving, communication and independence.
• Assist with social activities and ADLs (transport, meals, etc.).
• Monitor vitals and relay information between providers and care team.
• Connect individuals to community opportunities and employment goals.
• Attend medical appointments and document care plans accurately.
• Document care timely and descriptively.
