Casella Waste is seeking a Diesel Technician for a second-shift position with an anticipated start time of 11:30 am. The role focuses on maintaining diesel equipment, inspections, and preventative maintenance to uphold safety and customer service standards.

The job offers a $2,000 annual tool allowance and a Career Pathways program with merit increases. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs all job duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulations.
• Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements and makes appropriate corrections when needed.
• Works in adverse conditions at times including heat, cold, wind, rain and snow to repair equipment and vehicles.
• Builds and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
• Troubleshoots reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Maintains all relevant records for all work and procedures and reports on issues.
• Performs accurate lockout/tagout procedures.
• Runs diagnostic tests on vehicles and analyzes results to problem solve; test drives vehicles to diagnose malfunctions when necessary.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections, tire changes, breaks changes and hydraulic components work as part of vehicle maintenance.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services.
