Job summary

City of Davenport seeks an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline powered trucks, cranes and construction equipment. You will work Monday–Friday, 2PM–10PM, with the city providing CDL training on hire and covering related costs.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a skilled full-performance mechanic; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must possess valid driver's license; CDL training provided by the city after hire and license within stated timelines.
• ASE Master certification within six months of hire and maintenance thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical defects in a wide range of automotive, road and construction equipment.
• Perform major and minor repairs including brakes, transmissions and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate records of parts used, repairs performed and time spent on jobs.
