Microbest, Inc. in Waterbury, CT is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift CNC Setup Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role sets up CNC machines, troubleshoots issues, and adjusts tooling and offsets to keep production moving smoothly.

You will work with Okuma, FANUC, and Haas controls, read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and assist operators with setups. The position requires the ability to work quickly and safely in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on CNC machine setup and troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Experience with Okuma, FANUC, and/or Haas controls preferred.
• Experience working with more than one CNC control platform is a plus.
• Working knowledge of CNC tooling, offsets, fixtures, and machine setup.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.

Responsabilités

• Set up CNC machines using established setup sheets, work instructions, blueprints, and existing programs.
• Load and run existing CNC programs as required.
• Set and adjust tooling, fixtures, collets, chucks, work offsets, and tool offsets.
• Perform tool changes and make necessary adjustments due to tool wear or dimensional changes.
• Troubleshoot machine setup, tooling, and machining issues to minimize production downtime.
• Work with multiple CNC controls (Okuma, FANUC, Haas) to perform setups and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose machining issues including dimensional variation, tool wear, chatter, and tooling problems.
• Verify first-piece parts and make necessary setup or offset adjustments before production.
