Job summary

Amerex is seeking a CNC Setup Technician to set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring precision parts meet specifications. You will read blueprints, interpret CAD models, and work with programmers to optimize tool paths for efficient production.

The role includes first-article inspections, routine machine maintenance, and safety-focused teamwork. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of CNC experience, proficiency with Okuma OSP controls, and strong measurement skills.

Qualifications

• Must have experience setting up and operating CNC lathes/centers on production runs.
• Solid knowledge of Okuma OSP controls and offsets.
• Experience with fixturing, work holding, pallets, and multi-part setups.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (3-axis and 5-axis) to produce precision parts.
• Read blueprints, CAD models, and job orders to determine production requirements.
• Perform first-article inspections and ongoing quality checks; adjust machine settings as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines, performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Collaborate with programmers to optimize tool paths and machining strategies.
• Provide training on machine operation and safety protocols as needed.
