Position Summary:
To oversee that the CNC production machining is being performed on product to meet required customer specifications and ensures customer satisfaction while meeting Brunk’s high quality standards. This will be a working Supervisor role, with the expectation that you will operate CNC machines along with the team members that you supervise.
Responsibilities:
- Lead work area with professionalism on a daily basis.
- Operate all machines in department.
- Maintain lines of communication between other shift supervisors/leads.
- Ensure all employees under your direction are trained in and adhere to policy, procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Proficient using quality control measuring devices, computers, and all related press operation equipment.
- Understand Quality Control Procedures, S.P.C., basic blueprint reading.
- Monitor, inspect and document part quality per the approved inspection methods.
- Run jobs at the standard rates and within allowable scrap rates.
- Perform troubleshooting functions when press equipment/machinery is not operating properly.
- Cooperate with production leads, supervisors, managers and all peers at Brunk.
- Implement work schedules and assignments based on priorities and staff.
- Address conflicts and work towards resolutions.
- Monitor and enforce employees to adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain Brunk Industries standards of cleanliness.
- Issue material, complete data collection and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use other applicable software systems.
- Use of various measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, and gauges.
- Safe and efficient use of all equipment and machinery.
- Problem solving skills, attention to accuracy and detail.
- People management including conflict mitigation and resolving low level employee relations related scenarios.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work within time frames, multitasking.
- Experience with 5S or another continuous improvement program preferred.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
- Strong manufacturing and machining experience.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or similar setting preferred. Preferably supervising CNC machinists in a metric driven and close tolerance manufacturing environment.
- Work is in a manufacturing setting with noise and some coolant mist and fumes.
- Standing for long periods.
